The cool thing about living in the heart of Silicon Valley is that often the latest and greatest techo innovations can be found here. Case in point, yesterday San Jose hosted the Drone World Expo at the San Jose Convention Center. I was able to register for a free exhibit pass last month. After finishing up my volunteer services at Los Gatos Senior Nutrition Center earlier in the afternoon, I mozzied on down to the expo. Although I had a few hours before the expo closed down, I made the best of my time! Being able to talk about the latest drone technology with the likes of NASA, Intel, Lockheed Martin was an eye opening experience. I even ran into the VUFINE booth selling a "Google Glass" like device that allow's you to fly your UAV/drone via an HDMI adapter in FPV mode. For those of you who have purchased a DJI product like my Spark, you know the optional FPV googles cost almost $500! Including VUFINE, I'm seriously considering buying it along with the LILY drone that folds up into a compact smartphone sized traveling device. The fact that it does 4K video and is the same price as my Spark is another compelling buying reason. All in all, it was a great experience. Can't wait for the next drone expo.
